Careers at Lestori

English Literacy & Voice Specialist

Lestori works to help children from all walks of life learn languages and expand their neural development. In many cases, our children’s families may not speak their target language well, or the children may have special education needs that require additional support.

In this role, you will be in charge of making specific books accessible for children by doing the following three things:

  • First, check to ensure the data in the system is accurate.
  • Second, help teachers and schools provide more books for students by reading the story out loud using the professional recording studio at our office.
  • Third, review and expand upon the guiding questions we have already prepared for each story, to stretch children’s comprehension, imagination, empathy, and neural development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Text Audit (QC): Conduct deep-dive quality control checks on book text within our backend system to ensure 100% accuracy before production begins.
  • Voice Narration: Record native level, high-quality, expressive audio narrations that bring characters and stories to life for young listeners.
  • Pedagogical Design: Craft helpful "Guiding Questions" per book (Literal, Inferential, and Applied) to foster deep parent-child engagement and help develop critical thinking and empathy in children.
  • Metadata Management: Categorize books by age level, theme, and language difficulty to power our recommendation engine.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Skills: Native-level English fluency with a clear, engaging "storyteller" voice.
  • Portfolio: A 30-second audio sample of you reading a children’s book using the basic recording function on your mobile device (engaging and clear).
  • Background: Current students in English Literature, Drama, Communications, or Early Childhood Education.
