Job Opening: Tech QA Associate
(STEM Background Required | Full-time | Hong Kong)
About Us
We are an education technology company developing innovative tools to help children read independently and build lifelong learning habits. Our app supports children in reading illustrated books without needing constant parental guidance, encouraging focus on the physical book while reducing unnecessary screen time.
Our mission is to create technology that empowers children’s education and mental well-being. If you want to combine sales expertise with a role that has real social impact, this is an opportunity to be part of something meaningful.
Our Team & Culture
We are a small, diverse, supportive, and collaborative team where every voice matters. With a flat structure and no heavy hierarchy, you’ll have direct impact on decisions and plenty of opportunities to share ideas.
We believe in learning by doing, supporting one another, and growing together in a fast-paced but friendly startup environment.
And yes — our office has a snack bar to keep you fueled while working on exciting challenges!
The Role
We are seeking a Tech QA Associate to take ownership of testing and quality assurance across our app. You will work directly with our engineering team, helping to identify issues, streamline workflows, and make sure our users have the best possible experience.
This is a hands-on role where clear communication, structured reporting, and attention to detail are critical. If you enjoy breaking things (so they can be fixed), thinking critically, and helping teams deliver better products, this is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, execute, and document test cases for new features, updates, and bug fixes.
Conduct manual and automated testing to ensure product reliability.
Collaborate with engineers to identify, report, and track issues in a structured way.
Help manage the QA workflow, ensuring smooth testing cycles and timely releases.
Provide detailed feedback on user experience, performance, and edge cases.
Stay adaptable in a fast-paced startup environment, learning and taking on new tools as needed.
What You’ll Gain
Direct collaboration with the engineering team, gaining technical exposure.
Experience building a QA process from the ground up in a growing startup.
Opportunities to learn beyond QA (product development, UX, strategy).
A flat, supportive team culture that values your input and initiative.
A friendly work environment (yes, with a snack bar in the office).
Requirements
Legally permitted to work in Hong Kong during the engagement period.
Bachelor’s / Master’s / Doctoral degree in a STEM-related discipline from a recognized local or non-local institution.
Strong command of Chinese and English; Cantonese is a plus.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a proactive mindset.
Ability to work closely with engineers and bridge technical and non-technical discussions.
Nice-to-Have Skills
